The group has now been split in two. One group has taken the idea of Detention Deficit and is running with that, the other has created another show called Lines. As i was away while the decision was made, i was asked when i got back to be in both groups, by different people. I decided i would choose which group i was in by whichever script i thought was best. I read through both scripts and decided. I liked the script for 'Lines' as i thought it introduced the characters nicely, and there wasn't too much going on. I think there is enough going on in the first episode to keep the audience interested enough to watch the next episode, but not too much to freak them out and put them off.
I read through the script for Detention Deficit, and didn't think it was as good. It had a bad start as there was very little grammar or punctuation, and if someone can't write well, i don't want them being in charge of the project i am working on. I also thought they were really stretching for ideas of humour, the main one that put me off was a line about someone throwing a fridge at someone. While it does explain that it was actually a Frijj milkshake in a flashback, i just don't think it sounds very funny. An awful lot seems to be going on in the first episode and i think it all looks too hectic to be workable in an episode meant to be only a few minutes long.
